Beginners will receive an introduction into the art of mosaic making learning how to create a mosaic piece out of ceramic tesserae and glass vitreous tiles using the direct method onto wood, which is for indoors use. The design will be something fairly simple and enjoyable to make withing the weekend. You will choose an image for your mosaic which can be a photography, drawing or a copy of another mosaic, and email the image to us in advance.

Improvers wanting to further develop their mosaic making skills are also welcome! If you want to join this weekend course but have already learnt the direct method before speak to us - you could do the indirect method, or a mixture of both direct and indirect.

You will complete a small mosaic of size 20cm square so that we ensure that you are able to complete all stages towards a final mosaic piece. We have a large range of glass and ceramic tiles in many colours and we provide all tools and equipment need such as tile nippers and safety goggles. You do not need to be especially good at drawing for this course as full tuition and help is available with this - you just need to be interested and enthusiastic.
